Makaena: This promise the LORD made to Noah really stuck out to me:
And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:21-22.
It reminded me, that not only will he never destroy the earth again, but he will protect and care for us. This also stuck out to me:
Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” Genesis 22:8.
Abraham’s words made me want to have more faith in God, that he will provide.
Ian: Knowing that “God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them” (3:21) after they are cursed for their sin (3:16-19) has always impressed me. God’s response to our sin is just (curse) yet tender (clothe). He “breaks with gentleness.” He’s grieved but he doesn’t go away.
In my “sanctified imagination,” God’s sad. Adam and Eve are sad, too. It’s uncomfortable for all three as God gives them the clothes he sewed together “in the cool of the day” knowing what they’ve just done. What a moment. What an awkward, tense, weird, mysterious, loving moment.

Also, there’s more cursing and clothing in Genesis 9:18-27.
