Friday School Begins!

September 26, 2008 · 4 Comments

Today was our first day of Friday School. We supplement our regular Monday through Thursday homeschool schedule by taking classes with about 150 other kids every Friday.

The day starts with chapel at 8:30 AM (Ian leads worship) and then classes at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00. Joshua is in the Twos & Threes class while Paige is in a Kindergarten class that devotes the ten o’clock hour to learning Spanish. Aidan’s classes are Board Games, P.E. Fitness (the class Mindy teaches), then Science Demonstrations. Mia’s classes are Card-Making, Seven Wonders of the World, then Jumprope. Good times!

Here are our school photos/surprise-for-Mindy’s-birthday compliments of Uncle Josh

Mino

September 14, 2008 · 4 Comments

Yesterday, I picked up a “shoot and share” camcorder called Mino (made by Flip Video). I’ve been eyeing it for a while now. Let’s break it in with a little conversation between Ava and Aidan (7). Apparently, I’m not the only one who isn’t sure how to refer to this little device.

And isn’t it appropriate that it’s made by Flip Video? (Nods to Filipino friends and family.)

Ugh

Ian:  Aidan?  I was getting a little impatient with you when you were learning the game.  I apologize.
Aidan (7):  It’s okay, dad.  I actually heard it in your tone.
