Paige (4): Dad. Pretend I found you in the woods and I cleaned you up and then I married you.

Chicken

While Mindy was dressing the chicken to bake for dinner…
Makaena: Mom, isn’t it disgusting to have your bare hands all over and inside a dead chicken?!
Mindy: Not really.
Makaena: YUCK! I sure hope that Jesus comes back before I have to be a grown up.

Ian (thinking, but not out loud): I could really go for a piece of Chocolate Cinnamon Bread from Starbucks right now.
Mindy: Did you know that I got a whole loaf of Starbucks’ Chocolate Cinnamon Bread?
I just told the kids…

…that I had a surprise coming for them in the mail. I told them that it’d be here in about a week and that it’s for all of us to share. And that they could try to guess what it is as much as they wanted to.
Aidan: Is it cable?

I told Makaena (8) that I’d give her five bucks if she could hit my curve ball.
Do you have five bucks I could borrow?

Eloise
September 15, 2007 · 1 Comment
Mia, Paigey, and I just got back from Eloise’s second birthday party. I went to college with Eloise’s dad, Dave. Today was the first time that either of us saw any of each other’s kids. Undeniable fun.
Also, it was kind of like a Blogger/WordPress sponsored event. Kate, Dave’s wife, and Jodi, Dave’s friend Jace’s wife (insert camp (Firwood) names here), both have insightful blogs that we frequent keeping us in relative touch. I found myself regularly following-up my own “blah-blah-blah” with “but you already knew that.”
